DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep Tissue Massage is the most popular massage within my office. I use various techniques and methods within my knowledge and experience to address imbalances causing pain, limitations and discomfort. Mobilization techniques, fascial release, deep-tissue techniques, cupping therapy, trigger point release, IASTM, assisted stretching (METs), just to name a few. The massage may also include postural assessment or exercises. The combination is always based on an individual evaluation.
My approach
First, I find out where your pain and limitations reside. Sometimes, we can start with strength or mobilization exercise. Another time with a massage right away. During deep tissue massage I feed off of the actual feedback from your body to my touch. I do not hesitate to let you lead me or ask about the intensity and other factors of the pain. The pain should be relieving and reducing already during the treatment. Sensitivity and tolerance of the same intensity can vary from person to person, as well as from one body part to another on the same body. I calibrate my touch with every massage to every individuality and their actual state. Some also like to have deep tissue massage to relax, in which case I do not insist on communication and let the client experience the massage the way that works for them.
